about
'You're Not One of Us' brings you back to the more fast-paced and Punk-Rock flavors that 'The Future Awaits' had. It was written after the band's bass player left in August of 2010. The band knew that something wasn't right with him and he knew it too. He didn't quite fit in, he didn't really want to be there and everybody could feel it. This song is fast, loud, full of guitars and layered vocals. A great fast rock song!
lyrics
Every now and then I’d hear you say
That you just couldn’t stand being by my side
You needed the spotlight and I was in your way
You were never happy after everything I tried
Leaving through the back door
Not getting what you asked for
(But you know that what we have in store
Is our way to make it and the pain is worth it)
Taking all your goodbyes
With my eyes on the first prize
(The only way to the top of the world
Is to brace yourself for war)
There’s no denying
That we’ve been doubting
Reasons why we came to you in the first place
I know you’re trying
But we’re not buying
The time has come to leave us and find your own way
We thought that you were one of us
But it seems we were fooled ‘cause now you’re walking away
We though we gave you everything you wanted
But now your leaving with nothing left to say
That’s why you’re leaving through the back door
Not getting what you asked for
(You know that what we have in store
Is our way to make it and pain is worth it)
Taking all your goodbyes
With my eyes on the first prize
(The only way to the top of the world
Is to brace yourself for war)
CHORUS
So stop pretending like you’re one of us
You’re not one of us
Leaving through the back door
Not getting what you asked for
You know that what we have in store
Is our way to make it and pain is worth it
To hell with all your goodbyes
Got my hands on the first prize
The only way to the top of the world
Is to brace yourself, is to brace yourself for war
CHORUS
That’s why you’re leaving through the back door
You’re not one of us
