about
'Way Too Easy' is the kind of song a big rock band would make you wave with your two hands to if you saw it performed live! The main reason why it was called 'Way Too Easy' is because it's made up of only three chords and took 25 minutes to write! The band knew that the song was going to be on the album, but Pat didn't write lyrics to it until the day he had to record the vocals! He took the working tittle and wrote the song around the idea that saying goodbye to someone you've been seeing but don't really care about must be really easy once you have made up your mind!
lyrics
I tried to stay
But I just couldn’t help it I had to run away
I felt trapped in a cage
And turning insane
Now she’s convinced I took advantage of her
And that I left as soon as the party was over
I don’t see her around here anymore
But if I did she’d want me to know
You got exactly what you wanted from me
And now you’re letting go
When did you make up your mind
That’s one thing I want to know
Now that you’ve wasted my time
I bet it was way to easy for you to say
Once you had made up your mind
That’s one thing she wants to know
Now that I’ve left her behind behind
The truth is she’s not that wrong
I tend to get bored after two to three sons
I don’t see her around here anymore
But if I did she’d want me to know
You got exactly what you wanted from me
And now you’re letting go
When did you make up your mind
That’s one thing I want to know
Now that you’ve wasted my time
I bet it was way to easy for you to say
Once you had made up your mind
That’s one thing she wants to know
Now that I’ve left her behind behind
But she has always known
It’s been clear from the beginning
She just had it coming
